"Dear Theo" was done as a eulogy to Vincent Van Gough and the great impressionist period.
While working on this painting I had a wonderful strange dream one night of actually walking inside this painting as if it were a forth dimensional world of living paint; the paint was self illuminating, breathing light ever so many ways.
It was all so wonderful. This dream has never left my mind after so many years.
I started and completed this painting in 1986 as part of my BFA project. My first experience of doing an oil on linen painting. original in artist's private collection.
